The importance of being greatful.

gratefulIt does not matter what time it is, how you are  feeling, it is never too late to start enjoying the benefits of being greatful. It is something that can be done in two minutes, and helps you to change your thought processes for the better.

Yes it may be difficult to do so, when things never seem to be getting better. However, when you look back at all the difficult times, you can appreciate what lessons you got from it, and the experiences will allow you to make better choices in the future.

So here are some of the benefits of being grateful!

1. It helps you to live in the moment, and realise what you have. This can be people, objects, whatever is important to you.

It is nice to have time to think about your life. When things get a bit difficult it is good to have time to sit back and think, yes this is my life, yes I am happy with these things.

2. It changes your mood.

Being greatful almost instantly changes your mood from a negative to a positive. These positive thoughts will help you to give off positive energy, so positive things can come to you. Then you will be able to see the importance of being grateful, when you realise that these thoughts help you to achieve your desires and aspirations.

3. It keeps us on the right track.

Sometimes negative emotions can rule our lives, and at these times it is difficult to find things that you are greatful for. However, when this happens you can always remember things could always be worse and from this you can realise that things could be worse. This will help to get you back on the right path, and remembering to keep positive.

REMEMBER…

If you are feeling negative when you start looking at what you are grateful for, you won’t be able to hold the negative emotion for very long.

You canbe greatful for anything, no matter how big or small.

You can also choose to write a list of at least ten things you are grateful for at the end of your day. Then you can have a tangible list to look through when you feel negative. This will also put you in a good mood before going to sleep and will help you to welcome the next day with an open and grateful attitude. Therefore, allowing positive things to come to you.

Furthermore, you could keep a gratitude journal to create progressively a more permanent grateful attitude.
